Boogie-woogie in little group + vocal
13th of August
Boogie Phil fell in love at first sight for the Little Brother Montgomery’s, Albert Ammons’ or Jimmy Yancey’s music when he was a child. He was to become a boogie-woogie pianist, that’s obvious! Very sensitive to swing in little groups, like the one he will show us tonight, he explores all facets of a festive music style of which he is the best representor in Belgium. Just like Albert Ammons, he thinks that any music deriving from the jazz or variety music is “boogie-compatible”!
